I'm writing this message because I don't know how to get a hold of you otherwise.

I'm writing an article for Flux Magazine about Ultrarunners in Eugene and I'd love to interview you. Shoot me an email at emhutto@gmail.com if you're interested!

In the meantime, you can check out flux.uoregon.edu.

Thank you!

Emily HuttoEm Huttohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02000115879030998608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-128030716358889676.post-12702972595763739282009-07-08T15:03:49.519-07:002009-07-08T15:03:49.519-07:00Susannah - Thanks, not sure if I'll be pacing ...Susannah - Thanks, not sure if I'll be pacing soon.
Craig - Yea, hindsight. I'll be way slow from the start next time.
Gary - I'll be laying low for a bit. Maybe get some house projects done.
SLF - I'd like to chat with you sometime about your comeback.
Hal - I've never dropped out of a race short of injury (once). So I had a hard time with that. I'll need to work on that. Careful what you ask for, I was getting ready to drop a supernatural negative 4 hours on that last section and finish well ahead.
Matt - Thanks for getting me in. I might still be out there. Good luck this weekend!
Nathan - thanks for your help. Hope your first 100 is a little better.
Anonymous - Yes, go out slow, drink way more, slow down, it's ok to drop out. States this year was a great lessson of things for me; I have come away with things to put forward in my running but I also am happy to be part of the community that we have here in Eugene.

I almost snapped a foto of you sitting in the hospital w/ your IV's, your ultraunning shirt/race number still on, and your facial hair. It was pretty hardcore. I'm happy you are recovering well. Keep it up and continue to see the positive in the experience knowing that you gave it your all.

Regards,

Nathan aka PierreNathan Blairhttp://nathanblairdesign.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-128030716358889676.post-7648694645008047412009-07-05T23:14:31.230-07:002009-07-05T23:14:31.230-07:00Dan, thanks for letting me be a part of the experi...Dan, thanks for letting me be a part of the experience. I only wish I could have done a bit more for you. You were tough as hell out there. We both learned a whole lot. Let yourself heal up and we can do a bit of less painful running together.

MattMatt Lonerganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16525732646537579203noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-128030716358889676.post-83007833834240641572009-07-05T22:16:45.836-07:002009-07-05T22:16:45.836-07:00Dan,

Maybe we can get WS to grant you an exception and allow you to have a pacer from the start next time you run. Either that, or next time you run with me in the early miles like Monkeyboy did. No damage to the quads in those early downhills. Float. Quad preservation.

Glad things turned out as well as they did. No regrets in stopping. Looking back I think my last split inluded my time at the aid station, so my split might have been only 2:15 for the last 3.6 - blazing.
Todd - 7min pace for 62 miles sounds really hard but that would be awsome. Right now I need to make sure I fully recover before I start up again, probably no more racing this summer.Dan Olmsteadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17452015840118000769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-128030716358889676.post-70026078010752016502009-07-04T09:53:22.033-07:002009-07-04T09:53:22.033-07:00Dan, glad to hear that you are ok.
